Each ninth grade student is equipped with her own iPad. The one-to-one iPad initiative continues with each new incoming ninth grade. Students are exposed to web 2.0 tools in order to demonstrate knowledge of a topic and collaborate with experts inside and outside of the classroom. Students conduct research projects to answer a question or solve a problem by gathering relevant and reliable information from print and digital sources. Along with reviewing Excel, Word and Power Point, each student creates her own Google site to host a personalized e-portfolio. The e-portfolio serves as a reflection on academic growth throughout the student’s four years. In addition, students are taught about computer hardware and how to problem solve issues as an IT Specialist.
